Securing the Promise
40th Anniversary Campaign

To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Synergy School we have launched the "Securing the Promise" $2.5 million Endowment Campaign. The good news: we have already raised $1.2 million – so we are halfway there.

The Challenge

We know that a school structured as a teacher cooperative works spectacularly well, but we face a big challenge. We're in a fight to preserve our way of educating—our way of being to be exact.

The challenges we face are the same as every school—funding the budget. We have watched countless schools in the city increase their tuition to astronomical levels to meet rising costs in San Francisco.

The Goal: $2.5 million

We can keep our standards, keep our access, keep our diversity, and continue all the interlocking strengths of our cooperative structure by growing our small endowment by a modest amount.

The Securing the Promise campaign was seeded with a legacy gift of nearly $300,000 from one of Synergy's most important friends, Wilma Messing, for whom the library is named. Her gift represents a challenge to the entire community.
