How We Learn

“Synergy emphasizes how to think, not what to think. It encouraged me to find my own voice and speak loudly. I definitely want my children to be in this environment.”

Overview

At Synergy we provide the skills and encouragement for students to become competent, independent, and enthusiastic learners throughout their lives. Academic skills are achieved within a non-competitive and cooperative atmosphere. Children work at their individual ability levels and pace, participating in whole class activities, small groups, and individual learning centers. Student/teacher ratio ranges between 11:1 and 22:1, depending on subject matter and grade level. Evaluation of student progress occurs regularly through discussion, observation, portfolios and testing. Children and parents are made aware of personal achievements through formal and informal conferences throughout the year. Skills checklists and narrative comments are given by teachers in kindergarten through 5th grade, and letter grades are assigned in Middle School.
