Supporting Synergy School
From the founding of our school in 1973 to today, Synergy has relied on the generosity of our community of parents, grandparents, board members, faculty and staff, alumni and friends who have supported our unique progressive program and invested in our future. Your gifts are essential to carry out our vision and mission of Synergy. There are many ways that you can contribute to Synergy.
Participation
Every family is asked to serve on a committee and participate in annual fundraising and all school cleanup events. Committee work and participating in fundraising events are a great opportunity to meet other families and be part of our Synergy community.
Giving Opportunities
Annual Fund
Every fall, the school launches the Annual Fund, the core of our fundraising at Synergy. Our goal is to raise $150,000. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Synergy education. Your tax-deductible contribution to the Annual Fund bridges the gap between tuition income and operating expenses. The gap is $2000 this year. Parents, grandparents, alumni, teachers and friends contribute to meet two goals- a dollar amount and a parent participation goal of 100 %.
We ask that you give as generously as you can, and gifts of every size make a difference.
New Securing the Promise Endowment Campaign
To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Synergy School a new "Securing the Promise" $2.5 million Endowment Campaign is underway. The good news: we have already raised $1.2 million – so we are halfway there.
Endowment funds are important to the long- term financial security to the school. Increasing endowment helps to relieve the school’s dependency of its expenses and helps to slow tuition growth and support financial aid. Synergy’s endowment is currently $2.3 million. Spring Auction and Raffle
Every spring, Synergy parents work together to organize an Auction and Raffle that nets over $80,000 for the school. All families participate by soliciting goods and services, selling raffle and event tickets. The event brings parents, staff and friends together for a fun evening and raises funds to support Synergy. Learn more
Community Service Fundraiser
Every fall, families and teachers come together to work to raise money for the school. Each family is expected to collect at least $250 in pledges from friends and family before the event. This year, we will all participate in a beach cleanup at Ocean Beach. With all families participating, we will raise over $35,000. Full Details
Scrip
Scrip is an opportunity to support Synergy every time you shop. There are two kinds of scrip at Synergy:
- Paper Scrip – for Rainbow, Good Life Grocery, Peet’s Coffee and Tea are available in the office. You pay face value and Synergy receives 7.5 to 10 % back as a donation.
- Escrip – is an easy way raise money for Synergy. Register your credit, debit and grocery club cards online at www.eScrip.com. When you make a purchase with a participating merchant, 1 to 4 % is donated to Synergy.
Blue Bottle Coffee is delivered freshly roasted to the school every Monday. Sign up in the office by Friday. 10% is donated to Synergy with your purchase.
